Welcome to Vibe With Me, a substack where I share my writing (some essays, maybe some poetry and fiction), fun shit I find online, and attempt to spread joy in an otherwise bleak landscape.
I originally dreamed up this publication in the summer of 2022 without actually realizing what I wanted to do with it, but finally admitted to myself that notion is what holds me back from sharing my writing endeavors.
I never want to put something out in the universe until it’s perfect but is anything ever actually perfect? It doesn’t need to be — I enjoy reading raw, off-the-cuff reflections of other writers and artists online, so maybe others will enjoy mine.
Over the last few months, I’ve started to fall out of love with social media. I left Twitter and joined Mastodon, I deleted Insta off my phone nearly two years ago, left the book of faces in 2017 (and haven’t missed it at all, tbh). I’m still a passionate Redditor and am extremely online, even if I’m not having conversations in those spaces.
Yet, I still yearn to connect with others around the world — writers, people who love the same music as I do, film buffs, podcasters, etc. So, I guess me starting this publication on a site that is geared toward sharing and browsing words is a happy medium. Maybe I’ll make some new friends, maybe my words will meet more eyes. Maybe we’ll just hang out, laugh together, and vibe.
